Meet Ben Powers, the Broncos’ newly-signed left guard who has zero interest in social media and spends his free time playing Overwatch on his Xbox.Reserved as Powers may be, he is hard to miss. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, Powers transformed into a productive guard for the Baltimore Ravens. And after the Broncos watched their offensive line struggle through injuries and ineffective play, Denver made Powers a primary target in free agency, signing him to a four-year, $52 million deal with $28.5 million guaranteed.“He certainly was a target, and then he comes from a place that’s used to winning,” first-year head coach Sean Payton said. “That room has had probably the biggest turnover of any, and I think that’ll serve us well.”Powers said free agency was a whirlwind. From when Baltimore lost in the playoffs to signing the dotted line in March, the Wichita, Kansas, native said there were days of uncertainty, plotting and thinking about what’s next for his career. One thing ...Stolen llama found dead in Larimer County

WINTHROP, Massachusetts (WBZ) — A Winthrop woman is out a set of wheels after rats devoured the wiring in her car. Mechanics told her the wires are made with a common food product.Sharonle Bolger knew something was wrong when the lights on her dashboard went out. She took her Hyundai Santa Fe to the dealership to be looked at. That’s when they discovered the rat problem. She says the mechanics originally told her the wires were made with rice, however car companies actually insulate the wires in newer vehicles with soy.“I didn’t know that every time I was turning my car on, I am actually cooking rice for them, and cooking them dinner,” laughs Bolger, “I like fried rice, but not in my car.”The mechanics told her rats are attracted to the soy; however, AAA has spoken with manufacturers like Honda and Ford. Reps for AAA say the companies told them the soy used in the insulation or foam is not food grade material, and it shouldn’t attract rats.“Years ago, the wiring, and insulation of w...NASCAR Craftsman Truck Toyota 200 Results

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — Officials in Canada’s Atlantic Coast province of Nova Scotia said Saturday a wildfire that forced thousands of residents from their homes over the past week is now largely contained because of rain. David Steeves, a technician of forest resources with Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, said the fire in the Halifax area is about 85% contained, sits at 9.5 square kilometer (about 4 square miles) and is unlikely to grow due to a combination of firefighting efforts and long-awaited rain. The news was also good across the province, where Premier Tim Houston said the total number of active wildfires declined from 10 in the morning to five by mid-afternoon.“If you step outside you will see something beautiful: rain, and hopefully lots of it,” he told an afternoon briefing. The only fire that remains out of control is one in Shelburne County in the southwestern corner of the province which remains “scary,” Houston said. BERLIN (AP) — Leipzig retained the German Cup with a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the final thanks to a deflected goal and an assist from Christopher Nkunku on Saturday. There were few clear chances for either team as they seemed wary of allowing their opponents space to counter. It took a stroke of fortune for Nkunku to score in the 71st minute as the French forward’s shot from the edge of the penalty area bounced off two different Frankfurt defenders, leaving goalkeeper Kevin Trapp with no chance. Nkunku, who marked the goal with is expected to leave Leipzig for Chelsea at the end of the season.Dominik Szoboszlai made sure of the win in the 85th when the Frankfurt defense crowded Nkunku, who passed for the unmarked Szoboszlai to fire a shot past Trapp. Leipzig’s second cup title came after beating Freiburg on penalties last year, and the fourth time in five years that the club backed by drinks giant Red Bull was in the cup final. Frankfurt last won the cup in 2018...Latest news
